How to Create a Food Forest in a Cold Climate
Your Step-By-Step Guide for Building Your Very Own Food Forest
Have you been enchanted by the idea of food forests, but are unsure of how to actually make one?
I get that.
I have yet to find a good resource for people (book or otherwise) that is simple and effective for creating food forests in cold climates (like Saskatchewan), so I decided to create my own! This masterclass is designed to save you time and money so you can start growing food the very same week you take the class!
Food forests make beautiful additions to any yard - urban or rural. They mimic natural ecosystems and function just like a natural forest, except they PRODUCE FOOD! How amazing is that? In cold climates (USDA zone 3 or 4), we can grow over 100 edible and medicinal plants that come back every year! Can you imagine wandering out into your backyard and harvesting your own apricots, gooseberries, herbs for your tea, and flower garnishes for your salads? All from plants that you planted ONCE! Nutritious, delicious and as local as you can get!
Based off of over 20 years of gardening experience and 7 years of permaculture experience, hundreds of consultations, and my own failures and successes, I'm here to make creating a food forest a truly fun and EASY experience!
This masterclass is set up to give you STEP-BY-STEP instructions on how to:
- Find the perfect location for your forest
- Determine the size you want it to be
- How to orientate it to the sun/wind/views, etc.
- How to choose the right plants for you
- Templates to create your very own design within an hour using a "choose your own adventure" style template
- How to install it whether you have grass, weeds, bare soil, a shady backyard or cultivated farmland
You can start a food forest NEXT WEEKEND. Truly. It can be that easy.
You get all of this for a fraction of what a private consultation would cost.

I love adventure, travel and helping others to heal and grow.
A perpetual learner and avid reader, I take numerous courses each year to hone my expertise. I have completed my Permaculture Design Certificate Course, Earthworks Course, Reading the Landscape Course and Plant Spirit Medicine Course, Advanced Herbalism Course, Astro-herbalism among many others.
I teach the Permaculture Design Certificate Course, host various plants walks and teach workshops on rainwater harvesting, raising chickens, preserving food, gardening by the moon, self-healing seminars, and many other topics (both online and in-person).
I appreciate each and every enrolment I receive as it helps me to learn what gaps I have in my understanding, and provides me the opportunity to meet wonderful, like-minded souls. If you feel like taking my courses is of benefit to you, I would love to meet you and have you on the journey!
All the best!
